Crib recall

Today, months after requesting it, I received the recall kit for Kaitlin's crib. LaJobi, along with numerous other manufacturers, has recalled millions of cribs due to to infant death and injury. Apparently if the drop-side hardware is mounted incorrectly or is broken, the side can come loose, causing the baby to suffocate or become trapped.

Personally I find the drop-side feature to be overrated. We inherited the crib so it was not a conscious choice to have this type. We used the drop-side feature once: when we raised the side as she got older. Safety is definitely the most chief concern, and I can certainly live without the luxury.

Needless to say, I believe at least one of us will sleep well tonight.
